SANTA MINI-SESSIONS | ROCKLAND COUNTY, NEW YORK | HUDSON VALLEY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER
15-minute Santa Minis
A Santa mini-session with Angie Gaul is so much more than a quick shot taken after a long wait in the mall. You get to meet the real Santa. He knows each child by name without being told- in fact, he has a pre-printed Nice List Certificate right next to him already! Shy children are encouraged to greet him the way he greets the elves in at the North Pole during toy factory inspections, fingertip to fingertip, making a gentle connection to warm up slowly.
Shortly before Christmas 1980, I was pictured in the local newspaper meeting Santa during a "chimney check" at my home. A local dad volunteering with the local Women's Club went house to house visiting the children and bringing a gift they specifically asked for. (My dad was also a volunteer and would go on to do a stint at Dutch Wonderland in the 90s and 2000s.) My sister was delighted; I was terrified. The one thing I would do was give Santa a carrot to give to Rudolph. With that in mind, there's a basket of carrots at every session.
Children get to open a gift- one they REALLY asked for- and get all their questions answered. How does Santa get into your house if you don't have a chimney? Santa show off his magic key. He has a compass in his peppermint staff, so he can always finds his way back to the North Pole, and for kids who are really skeptical, they can go ahead and tug his beard.
A fifteen-minute session means you have just enough time to sing a Christmas carol before you go, and the pictures are just priceless.
