Sneak Peek: Emily and John
Oh, my goodness! Emily and John’s wedding was gorgeous, you guys. They are a wonderful couple, and while this wedding had it all- romance, family, friends, music, laughter, dancing and toasting- it also had VISION. Emily and John worked for months and months on their rustic country wedding in the Barns at Wesleyan, making fabric banners, crafting personalized cigar box favors, planning the lighting (Oh, the lighting! The gorgeous custom mason jar chandeliers!), collecting kerosene lanterns for centerpieces, setting up interactive photo corners and a typewriter guestbook, hand-painting signs and boxes for pies on display, and so much more.
Now, I would be remiss if I didn’t give a shout-out to Houston and Beka, decorators extraordinaire who pulled all the details together and staged everything in the venue. The thing is, it was so clearly a labor of love, an act of friendship, that it just makes me smile. Seriously, when I think about all the unsung heroes behind the scenes of weddings everywhere (including at my own, thank you again, Andrea) who coordinate, decorate, fix and arrange… Hats off to you all!
Anyway, back to the happy couple: Emily and John are consummate caregivers. They are both nannies- well, maybe John is a “manny”- and their charges were a cherished part of the celebration. But above all else, there is a tenderness between this bride and groom that shines on everyone around them. May you have many happy years together, and thank you for having me be a part of your day!
