Earlier this summer, I had the BEST mother-baby session with little Sophie and her mom Frederique. Sophie was a little slow to warm up, reserving her best smiles for a little while, but oh, once she got going? The smiles were pure sunshine.

I have to say, in a couple of years when Joel and I are ready to start a family, I hope I find a new mom’s group as cool as Teran and Freddy’s.) These ladies have been so great, and I’ve been having so much fun with the bebes. I’m so appreciative of the way they’ve been passing my name onto friends and family, including Freddy’s sister-in-law Eleanor.

Joel and I went down to Sea Girt for our anniversary weekend earlier this month, and we shot the session on the beach, a nearby park and around Spring Lake, NJ. Thanks so much for letting me photograph your kids, you guys! I’d love to see you all again. (And oh, I will have more stickers for bribes. Oh, yes. 😉

On Sunday, I shot Emily and Jeremy’s beautiful wedding in upstate New York. For those of you keeping score, yes, that’s THREE weddings in one week. Emily and Jeremy celebrated in their own unique way, with a ceremony they wrote themselves and a wedding party who got to choose their own dresses. The highlight for me, however, had to be when the best man toast gave way to a water gun ambush. The brother of the groom gave the happy couple a gift during the toast. When they opened it they found two water guns and a note that said, “Defend yourselves.” Awesome!

This weekend Joel and I got to photograph Angela and Jason’s wedding at Peek ‘n Peak Ski Lodge and Golf Resort (there’s more golf than skiing at the moment, as you might have guessed) earlier today. Between Karla Cadeau coming in from Canada to help out with this huge event, plus an ongoing wine and jazz fest AND getting to see some awesome people I had a great time with at Michelle and Travis’ wedding in 2006, it felt like more fun than work. Congratulations, newlyweds! Your wedding was just awesome.

You might remember when I blogged about a maternity session a couple of months ago with Teran and her husband Jim. Last weekend I got to meet their baby girl! Nila is 9-weeks-old and so, so sweet. It’s still so miraculous to me that the same little kicker who was inside just a few short months ago is actually here. Back in March, they asked if we could work a soccer ball into some of the shots, since both Teran and Jim play on the weekends. Shooting the parents’ wedding rings dangling on tiny toes is becoming kind of a trendy pose these days, but I have to say, it’s one of my favorites.

Nila is an absolute angel who really wasn’t a fan of my big portrait lights, so we posed her in some of her favorite places: the bath, the swing and in her parents’ arms. Still, that pouty lower lip just cracks me UP. Thank you so much for letting me spend so much time with your baby girl, you guys. You have a beautiful family, and I’m so happy for you.
